Well I guess I’m addicted now :anonymous:. Going Sunday to get this if it’s still available and hopefully it will be because it’s clean as hell. It’s going to be my DD until I finish saving up for a tow rig. It’ll also be my overland rig since I still like to camp out of the rtt.

You can still overland the xj we are building. It's only going to be 3 linked with radial tires dude. So you can drive it you know lol

Got the mid frame stiffeners on. Can definitely tell the sturdiness everyone was telling me they would do.

Doesn’t matter what you wheel aslong as you’re wheeling.

Also the stock axles on a LC wouldn’t last on what I’m wanting to do. Yeah they might work out west but it’s a totally different story over here with slick ass rocks. And also LC are heavy as fuck. Just not my cup of tea. If you’re wheeling with 40’s on stock axles you aren’t wheeling hard enough for solid axles.

The axles aren’t bad on an 80. Rear is good and the front just needs some attention in reverse to protect the HP 8”. 80 birfs are beef compared to a mini truck.

I totally get building an XJ over an 80 and that would be my route but 80’s are solid.

He’s been on 40’s for 3 years in the Midwest and no breakage. 5250 lbs with 40’s on it...lighter than a lot of Tacoma builds on here.
