Vapor alone will now come out of the valve cove ports. Not pressurized air. Your engine should run quite well in the morning. Can't wait to hear back.

jstand do you have emissions in TX?

 

They don’t look under the hood just obd2.

 

I was hoping it would but for some reason oil is dumping on to the engine from the valve cover same as when it was hooked up but the AFR’s seem better. It’s a lot of oil smoke

 

Here’s a better pic of the engine bay. It’s strange why oil is pushing out with nothing connected but when it was just the PCV connected stock and a filter on the front tube of the valve cover it didn’t do this

 

Also......I never did replace the grommets going around the spark plug tubes they are original. Do you suppose they would leak that much ?

 

Might want to do a compression test.

Maybe you just blew out the valve cover seal. Easy job

 

Do you mean the four seals that go around the spark plug tubes that are installed on the valve cover ?

 

No I mean the rubber lining/seal that seats around the mating surface between the valve cover and the head.

 

Yes. Yes they would leak that much.

 

Water/oil going to spray out of those vents if you just have them open over the head. Going to spray like a wet dog.

 

Ok yea for some reason I've got oil coming out of somewhere and draining down the valve cover onto the header and this has been a long time just more accessive now

 

Yeah I'd get a new valve cover seal and spark grommets. Goop it with some gasket maker.

 

The good thing in all of this is that the AFR's seem to be right (push the throttle they go down let off they go up) but I'll have to hook it up how i had it until parts come in so i can drive without choking. Thanks for the patience everyone. I think I'll blame it on old age or exhaust fumes either one

 

Well we fixed the tune aspect.

As they said, valve cover seal and spark plug grommets. Do them you must.

Then, a routing for a catch can with a filter on the valve cover, or both ports into a can, with a filter on the can.

 

You could also attach long vacuum hoses to those open ports, and let then dangle for the time being. It will vape under the truck then.
