I know your car is new but how many miles on the tires? I thought for AWD that if 1 tire needed replacing they all do otherwise it screws with the AWD system.

It's so new I doubt there's gonna be any difference in diameter between them and the new one. That's the reason they say to replace all the tires.

It was in the block of tread closest to the outer edge of the sidewall. They said it was too close to plug. I guess with the sidewall flex it could unseat the plug. Not that a low profile tire flexes too much. Unless its going around corners sideways.
    VVV
Yep. Theres about a thousand miles on that tire. If it was 30k, or even 10k, i might argue to at least change the other one on the same axle, if not all 4. But i would say the tread hasnt worn any at all in that short time it was on.

One stupid screw. Thats why when i walk in parking lots or any paved surfaces where cars drive, if i find something sharp it goes into the nearest trash can.

If it's on the outermost tread block or sidewall, no patch. The curve on the inside of the tire there is not flat enough for the inner part of the patch to hold. May hold for a bit but even with the vulcanizing fluid (glue), it will come unseated with driving.

I actually looked for a charlie brown christmas tree. Couldnt find one, so i bought a small one from lowes. No need for any big fancy tree.

Dropped one of them getting it mounted and ripped the mirror off... nothing a little gorilla tape could handle
