It sounds pretty damn good idling, almost like a v8. Fucking loud as hell driving cause it's dumping before the cat back right under the front seats since the cat back female spring joint flange doesn't align with/ is too far away from the male flange on the y-pipe.

Looks like I need to get another new joint put on the cat back so I can bolt it up.

Otherwise it's pretty damn nice. Eliminates that silly crossover under the tcase where the pipe pancakes down.

Nice - maybe I'll source one to complete the suspension when I do mine. I really hate the thought of it being louder so I'll probably add additional mufflers to the catback...

I did a fair amount of research on the tranny before I tuned the truck, wanted to make sure i wouldn't exploit any known weak points. Everything I've read about the Ferd tranny seems to point to it being pretty bullet proof. There are a lot of people running very heavily modded engines and still on the stock transmission without any issues (600 hp +). I wish it was serviceable like the Alison but otherwise, seems to be alright.
    Wait, trade in?

Unless it's a 2004-2008, then a little snap ring causes big issues.

I knew the earlier ones had issues, i didn't know specifically what the issues were. My generation seems to have a solid reputation. We'll see how the 10 speed does. Seems like too many gears to me.

    Good morning.
10 degrees "warmer" than yesterday and less sporty with no wind.
Think I'll go to Bass Pro in Bilgeport this morning and leaf removal...again later.
    Have a good Sunday all.

    Morning all!

@bucktales - if you're in the firearm area, see if they stock any Heritage range rider western revolvers. I'm itching for a single action 22LR / 22Mag.

I picked up a Ruger Single Six Convertible a few years ago from a local dealer who picked up a Ruger collection from an estate.
From the 90's and NIB to boot.
Wasn't looking for stainless, but I couldn't pass on this one...

Just seems silly if you have an engine with torque. The 10 speed makes sense for an engine that has a very narrow power band or may be a little undersized for the truck. But modern engines are generally developed with a decent torque curve and power usually isn't an issue. Just seems like a great way to build a lot of heat in the transmission. Fewer gears, let the torque converter lock up and let the engine's power curve shine!

My dad has a 14 Silverado with the 8 speed auto. The thing is always hunting for gears. It's more annoying with a louder exhaust too.

That's what I'd be worried about with that many gears. If it's something slow and heavy like a big rig where you need that many gears, that's one thing, but in a half ton it's ridiculous. It's all in response to th EPA's MPG mandates. So we can make the truck get decent fuel economy in perfect conditions but it will drive like shit in real world use... I've said it more often lately, the more this crap goes on, the better an HD truck is looking.
