A large piece of debris hit my left front bumper today. I was traveling at 70mph on the expressway when (what looked like) a board or a large piece of plastic flew up and hit my DCSB on the front left of my front bumper. It cracked the bumper underneath the left foglight, broke the left foglight mount, and even tore off both left side wheel center caps.

Currently down one foglight :(. I'm considering making an insurance claim, but I'd settle for a sexy aftermarket off road front bumper with a winch mount + fog lights if I can find something that won't break the bank. Pics below...

SOS Concepts has 20 percent off, depending on what options it could be reasonable price and look good. I was looking at Demello earlier, they have some nice stuff and Pelfreybilt as well. Lots of choices.

Can't go wrong with any of these names! One thing to decide is Aluminum vs. Steel. If I recall correctly, mine is just shy of 60lbs (Al) and the steel bumpers are almost double that. Depends on your suspension, you can go steel with stock suspension but it will sag a bit. I also opted to paint myself to save money over powdercoating.

Your Pelfreybilt bumper looks good, I like the idea of saving weight, I'm not going to be rock crawling. I was looking at the hidden winch mounts but most of them by the time you do aluminum and powder coating its almost the same price as a full size bumper.
Anyone mount a Pronghorn on their truck yet? http://pronghorngear.com/alpha-tacoma-aluminum-bumper/ they are pricey.

Thanks for all the ideas. Might be a few weeks but I’ll post pics once it’s done.

    The insurance claim went through!
Now I just need to pick one. I want Aluminum to save the weight, but I also want my OEM foglights to fit the new bumper.

Ended up purchasing the Pelfreybilt aluminum front bumper. Powder coated, no hoops. Since the OEM fogs won’t fit, (and one of mine is broken anyway) I decided to get the Squadron R sport (wide cornering) fog lights from Baja Designs. Still waiting on the bumper to arrive, but the BD lights are fantastic.

    Pictures to come!

It’s here! Just hooked up my BD light connectors, but tomorrow I’ll start work on the bumper.

Thanks again for all the great responses, and a special thank you to Bailey at Baja Designs and the lovely “Pelfrey(bilt)” family. I love your products and customer service even before the install.

That compliments the body lines of the truck spot on. So, where was that cardboard or chunk of wood at you ran over? Google me a map pin so I can get up to speed.

    Shopping for insurance claims? Lol

It was I-65 south of Nashville. I actually think it was a mud flap from a 18 wheeler.

You are the 1st person i have seen or met that has one! I love it, it is heavy but very well built. I love the look it gives the truck plus it holds all my rigid pods and light bar. How are you liking it?

It's great! Like you said, a little on the heavy side. However, I love the look of it and any steel bumper is an upgrade from the stock set up. I wouldnt recommend putting it on a stock suspension just because of the weight. It has already made my set up settle pretty quickly, but I still have room to crank it up some more.

Im still waiting to buy my second set of pods (beams) to put next to my first (floods).

That's so weird, why dont more people run them? Is there a major flaw we are missing?
