I bought another little Bushnell trs25 for my just right carbine. It has to be the best bang for the buck cheap red dots around. The one I have on my sport has been flawless.

 

That's a hell of a deal.
I would have bought half dozen at that price.

Does anyone know the difference between the m and p 10 and m and p 10 sport. Barrel length and weight, but can't find any other differences.

 

All the internals are the same. Just different "type" of rifle. Sport as opposed to target as opposed to hunting, etc.

 

Sorry, I should clarify. Yes the only difference would be barrel length, stock type, "accessories"(hand guards, signts), etc. For example a target rifle would have a longer heavier barrel than a sporting rifle.

Yes he still make them you can order a complete rifle from his company or order parts and put together yourself customize the rifle the way you want

 

The Sport models have always been S&W's budget line. With the standard M&P10 OR you get a better bolt, longer 18" (and lighter) barrel. I think the real money is probably in the quality of the barrel. They'll both function just fine. The early Sport rifles also deleted other features like the dust cover on the upper, I don't think the controls were ambidextrous, and no forward assist. If you're looking at used rifles those are things to consider.

EDIT: those issues might just be for the M&P15 Sport models

 

Aside from the barrel, I can't find any difference between the sport model m and p 10 and the m and p 10. I have a early sport .556 with the 5r barrel, no forward assist and no dust cover, it has been flawless and will eat any ammo. Probably over 5000 rounds absolutely trouble free. Only thing I did was put magpul hand guard and rifle stock on it.
There may be a m and p 10 in my future.

I've been going through some of his notes the last few days that I have found and he was very depressed and is in a much better place now i believe!!
I am doing better as time slowly goes by for once in a long time.... my little 10yr old was hit pretty hard. She is doing better as well.

No pics yet but I picked up an AR15 pistol lower and an upper with a 7.5” barrel. Put a Shockwave brace on it. Waiting on a holosun circle dot, 10” rail, and a YHM QD brake so I can mount my can on it.

Ordered the M & P 10 sport from Davidsons, I think it will be here today.
Plan is to change out the handguard and stock at first, then a 3x9 scope and see what I think. Down the road, as funds are available, maybe swap out to a 20" barrel and free float handguard. For the price difference between the regular M P 10 and the sport, this was a no brained decision. I was on track to purchasing the DPMS G2 hunter when the sport 10 popped up. I have a 556 sport and it has been absolutely flawless, eats any ammo, and has never had a single issue in over 4000 rounds, this gave me confidence that smith is building and selling a reliable platform. Will report back with my impressions and performance .
