That one looks like a SPST switch. I need a DPDT switch. I found some small ones online and there's no radio shack near me so depending on what Lowes has tomorrow I may just wire everything and not mount but continue search for a good switch

 

Yeah that's a spst but basically the sam size as the spdt I have.

 

Thought I'd try a different color out...what do you think?

 

what would you guys recommend for a handheld CB radio? im sick and tired of my shit not working after I got the fiberglass put on, im about done with it lol; ive had nothing but issues with it. Even after moving the antenna up front and mounted to my bumper I still cant transmit or receive very well. im thinking of getting myself a HAM radio license and a handheld HAM radio

You can use frequencies that don't require a license. I love my baofengs...that's what we used at Lazy springs instead of cb.

 

you sure about that? everywhere ive seen says no matter what to transmit on UHF and VHF you are required to have a license, even on a handheld

Ill prob end up having both in the truck at some point just for ease of communications between people who do and dont have HAMs

 

Correct me if I am wrong, but does your ATC cert not grandfather you in with the FCC?

 

you know im not sure, I do need to look into that...I do transmit on UHF and VHF radios on an hourly basis taking to aircraft lol

I use marine vhf the most inland because the channels are quite and require no license, there's also murs and frs (old school walkie talkie)

 

well im not really too sure where to look for the ATC deal, but its only $15 to take the test and get the license lol

 

I have an FCC GROL (General Radiotelephone Operators License) I got when I was in A&P school that will permit me to operate any sort of transmitter, HAM or otherwise. I can't imagine that an ATC certification wouldn't do something similar.

 

I REALLY like the midland stuff. I have the GMRS setup now and cant be happier honestly.

 

Yes, yes you do. I fully expect a to be addressed via a super cool callsign at the annual meet while on the CB. Something like Penetrator47 should work.

we get like 2 or 3 miles in ocala with the GMRS. We use the MXT115s

For having unmudded my truck there sure was a sheit tone of mud on her still. I think between this, my taillight, and radiator I've learned my lesson about playing in the liquid dirt.
