Gotta go hybrid. Doing what Stefan did with his (removing the winch and putting a 30 inch light bar in). He's having a Black Friday sale so it's either now or wait a year. I'll wait another year to do the rear bumper. Probably copy yours for the rear tbh.

So sick. That's the same route I will go up front. I don't really need a winch. And if I ever am in a position I do, then probably will be with somebody who has one.

While I was at it I thought I should finish a few other nagging projects. Amazing how much time the truck can get with the wife away for the weekend. Installed redline hood struts. While I was there I decided to install some lights under the hood. Found a handy switch that allows the lights to only come on when the hood is open. All considered about a 2 beer project.

Finally no more clumsy hood prop!

    Satisfied with neat-enough wire routing

    What a handy little switch

And at last, let there be light! And lift!

I just did the underhood lighting a little while ago and the hood struts. I had the same switch but wasn't happy with it after a little while having the lights always on so rerouted the wires to the auxillary relay panel end installed a toggle switch with a protector "hellicopter switch" now I just turn them on when I need them on. Nice clean installation man cool job

    Hey Casper
Show me a picture of your switch, I like the idea of turning it on only when needed.

Thanks. I’ve got mine wired into my blue seas fuse block so I can just hit my breaker to turn them off. I guess I could also just pop out the fuse. We’ll see if I like it in the long run

Sorry I was cooking dinner and eating

This is the switch in the closed or off position

This is the open or on position. You lift the red gaurd and flip the switch on seperately the guard just prevents it from being turned on by accident. To shut it off lust close the guar and it shuts the switch off as well.

The plunger style switch usually works by interupting the ground circuit, at least mine did. I just grounded to the body ground by the battery. I attached the positive directly to the battery with an inline fuse and then ran that to a 2 pole toggle switch and then out to the lights.

    Lights on!

Advance auto parts I think it was just the switch I already had the guard but you can buy them together. If Advance doesn't have them I think Autozone does. They're cheap and they work well
