The dealer claimed that they could get the parts in today and have it done tomorrow afternoon:eek: but I am pretty skeptical. If they can do it in that time it will be a miracle!

The Camry rental isn't terrible, I just don't like being low to the ground in a daily driver. As long as they get it fixed for good and its not a stupid amount of time I will be happy

My dealer originally quoted me two days to fix the same issue but when they realized the part had to be sent somewhere (?) for the mileage to be programmed that took almost three weeks. They gave me a rental (Nissan Frontier) that I put a ton of miles since I had to do a lot of traveling at the time so I used the rental truck instead of one of my other vehicles.

My truck and the new speedo has been working perfectly since the repair and my dealer was really easy to work with so no complaints on my part....after almost three weeks in the frontier I was ready to get my tacoma back.

Mine took exactly two weeks. They told me the part was on back order and it would be about a month for it to come in. The service manager got the factory rep involved. He t9ld him if they had the truck more than thirty days Toyota would be buying it back.He called me the next day,the part was in and he would call me when the truck is done.
The tach needle started to act up again, but only when the weather is hot and humid.I will have to wait until next summer to see if it happens again.

Got the 5k service today. Found out that if you want all the doors to unlock with one click they have to do it with computer unlike other models. They did it and didn't try to charge me.

SR guys, I want to put fog lights on my gals SR for xmas. What do I need to order up? I want the switch to look factory and fit in a hole to the left of wheel.
Please advise! I found plenty of kits on Amazon but not sure if the switches are the ones I will need!

True factory switch would be to change the headlamp stalk, but both options are outlined here.

The dealer called me today (the day they said it would be ready for me to pick up) and informed me that they ordered the wrong gauge cluster...

On the V6 3rd gen the engine self cleans and makes a distinctive noise. I have noticed this same noise when stoped at a light after a couple of seconds on the 4cyl. I do not see why they would not go ahead and add this feature to the 4cyl.

Anyone else also notice a tapping noise(sounds like valves tapping) when stopped?

I wondered if the 4 cylinder had the valve cleaner on it also.... I keep my windows up so I don't know if I would hear it or not.

The I4 is port, doesn’t have direct inject, doesn’t have a cleaning cycle, unless they put one in while I wasn’t looking.

I thought the valves were cleaned via port instead of direct. Direct I thought caused carbon build up. That is why BMW did away with their direct injection only and went to port and direct.
