Thought I would share a little write up. I know some here have never done this before. I picked my fenders up yesterday and installed today.

Tear down, it’s pretty easy. Take off the grill (two bolts, two clips on top, then pull up). Headlights is 4 bolts. Fenders, just pull that inner fender plastic out. I just ripped mine out, it’s trash. Then the fender is a few bolts top and door jam. One on top you open your door all the way and use a long extension to get at between the gap of the door and cab. You also need to pull the trim parts under the head lights. Sorry if this write up is a bit jumpy. If you break the black plastic tabs where they go into the fender, that’s ok, more on that later. Ok you have decent mechanic skills so let’s say the fenders and everything is off.

Now you want to test fit a fender. When you install start at the door. Make sure the top fiberglass tab on the door end goes on the door side if the metal bracket. The fiberglass tab below that goes grill side of the metal bracket. After that push the rib on the top of the fender into the hood area and it will rest naturally into the grove. Awesome you will do this 5 or so more Times per side haha.

Now it is time to start drilling holes and mounting this thing. Start with the top bolt on the door side. I got a skinny market and from inside the fender marked my hole. Take off fender, drill hole 1/4” (I think I used a uni bit). Put the fender back on and put in the bolt.

At this point you will look and go “oh shit these body lines don’t line up.” Don’t worry. Remember these are fiberglass. They are not finished quality. They are builders parts meant to be sanded and tweaked.

Next do the middle tab on the fender, same steps as above. Now for the bottom hole. You will need to tweak the fender over to make the door gap as good as possible. I had to pull mine to the door side, then mark the hole. Drill that and bolt it on. Your doing great, have a beer!

Now it’s time to start messing with headlights. There are some studs on the body that aren’t letting your fender sit perfect because we haven’t drilled this holes yet. No worries, ignore. Try to put your headlight in, noting a lip on your headlight that ideally goes over the fiberglass. Mine didn’t fit. No biggie it’s a builders part.

Grab the grinder!!! I use an angle grinder with a flap sander disk that is old, so it grinds slower. If you are using new, just get a higher grit.

Mark with a sharpie where you think it is interfering, never cut more that 1/4 off a surface. Cut check fit. Fits good, cool. Doesn’t fit good, mark again and cut no more than 1/4. Do this many times! Took me 2 per side. Was mainly on the bottom. Ok bam headlight fits in there ok. Perfect. Start by trying to locate the headlight to it’s mounting holes. Put the screws in loosely. You should start to be seeing where you need to trim if it’s needed. You can also see where the holes need to go on those two bottom studs. Mark and drill those. Push the fender in position and over those studs. Drink a beer!!

Getting close. Close your hood and look at the gap. I needed to push my fender inward to make the gap right. Found a reference point on the headlight, let go and the fender went back to resting position. Open hood, push fender to reference point, mark the center top bolt hole. Drill install bolt. Damn your fender is mounted but fuck look at those door gaps, they aren’t straight. No worries. Grab your trusty sharpy and mark up the top at the A pillar and door gap to make it all roughly the same. Mine was about 1/4 when done, maybe 3/8 at the very bottom but I have a nice straight gap that looks good. I also marked up a few areas that needed to be cleaned up. I cut off some of the inner lip on the top near the headlight and other little places. Took the fender off and gave the whole thing a good clean up, addressed the door gaps and all the other little spots.

After the final trim a little white semi gloss or flat pint can be used if you want to clean up those sweat white fenders. Or just ignore and your painter will.

    A few extra notes:

    - you may have to trim around the A pillar before the first tab lines up good

    - I had to cut my wiper reservoir mount off to get my pass side fender to drop low enough. After it was installed I bolted the reservoir to the fender.

    - wear long sleeves and gloves unless you like the meth head itch

    - The under headlight trim pieces. I cut about 1/4” off the outside and sanded the back flat. Replace the push pins on the inner mount with bolts and the drilled the outside to bolt into the fender tab that is there. Simple, clean and they won’t fall off. People always have trouble with these for some reason, they are easy!

    - put painters tape on your A pillar and door to avoid scratches. Also be careful not to scratch your headlights.

    - Last, extra credit, you can install your antenna even though most don’t. I took the rubber trim piece and found a good spot it set nicely on. Marked and drilled an oval 3/4” hole. Mounted, bent the long tube and self tapped the mounting bracket to the cab with a dab of silicone. It won’t work as good as people say the metal fender helps the antenna. You decide what’s important to you

Here are a few picks. I’m off to the hardware store to grab a couple bolts and I’ll post more when I get home.

    I’m trying! Haha.

Good to know. I have been messing with it a little and so far I am impressed with it. Craftsmanship seems great.

Yeah it's great and they have need great people to deal with. Do you already have your axles built? You going secondary shocks hoop? Got my install done in a little over a day, wheels on ground to wheels on ground with my shitty attempt at an alignment. You already have everything stripped so your 1/2 way there

Ya I paid them to build me a full set. That way I could keep my OEM ones for spares. One day I’ll get around to tearing them down and send them in for the treatment as well.

Single shock for now but it will get the treatment. After the front is done I’ll update the rear, again, for the 3rd time haha. It does pretty good now but it’s still SOA and will not keep up with the front after all this.

I had bamf relocation and 12"kings...bad ass mid travel rear when I got my dirt king front installed. Lasted less than a week of off road driving (I have forest access at the end of my street) and I called up Tim at dmz and ordered up my sua. Now it is amazing.

I think I was #7 or 8. Not sure. But he was further down the line and we are sharing freight shipping. Decided to text John and see what the status was and if I was gonna have to wait until iboosted's order number or if they were going to bump him up closer to mine to get them both shipped out.
