@OVTune something I have been wondering about, is the rev limit adjustable? That would be kinda sweet if we could use a little more of the rev range, kinda seems like this engine takes off at 4000-4500 only to shift soon after where it could probably handle pulling a little harder. Would be nice to see that, and the rev hang greatly reduced if not eliminated. More power is always acceptable too but I'm happy with how far the Taco has come so far with your work in that department.

 

Is that after you've altered it?

Regardless, I know I said it's super annoying in the 5-6k RPM area, but it's also present right across the rev range.. so the more of it you can kill the better IMO.

Ideally - press the gas, shit happens right now (linearly, though).... let off the gas while disengaging the clutch, RPM falls naturally. That's what it boils down to.

I’d like to see the elimination of Atkinson cycle as an option too, it’d be great to have as a towing/performance driving tune in addition the throttle option tunes that still allow Atkinson mode for daily driving.

What could be done to allow modifications that would give us 2wd low range? Doesn’t the computer respond to sensor inputs from the 4wd that when triggered allow for the case to shift into low range? I know we can interrupt the signal from the switches to the axle disconnect, but the computer won’t allow the transfer case shift without thinking that everything else is happening as well.

 

I've got another suggestion WRT "OTTO" only mode - What if the engine were forced into this mode below a certain speed threshold?

Say, 15-20 mph or so. That would allow full available power/response under light to moderate loads when taking off from a stop, and also allow full engine braking in 4lo.

What say you?

 

I like this idea, but I’d want Atkinson back on at idle most of the time for daily driving. I would however want an Otto only mode when in 4wd or when towing for better takeoff from a stop and better control. Could there be a switch activated Otto only mode? That would be nice, right next to the 2 Low switches...

Ovtune needs a basic business lesson in product delivery. It would be best if he didn't give dates he constantly misses. I'd rather be told it will be released in the next few weeks when everything is done, not a certain day that has come and gone multiple times.
