Ya but why not learn... Great way to figure out your shocks that you should be doing maintenance on and revalving anyways. Start now and save a lot of time and maybe some money down the road. And learn about this wonderful sport!

This lol revalves and rebuilds aren't difficult, don't have the time to scrub at these shocks, rather give them to someone and bolt them on in a few weeks instead of saying ill get around to it for 5 months

I was talking to a buddy that races desert cars last night about setting limit straps.
He asked me what angle my CVs were limited at?
I told him I just went by what looked okay to me.
Do any of you have an actual measurement of an appropriate angle like 19degrees or something?

Droop it out and rotate the wheel from lock to lock while spinning the tire/ hub. Strap it as low as you want so long as there isn't any binding at the cv. With my kit I actually had no binding at full droop so I limited to just before the uca uniball maxed out

Isn't the boot the first thing to fail? I've always read you don't want the fins touching which happens at a lower angle than bind in the joint.

You won't be running at full droop long enough to get the boot to fail first most likely it'll be binding for a short enough time to break before the boot has a chance to wear through. Watching the boots definitely is important at setting ride height if you don't have manual hubs though.

Well if you're talking about going beyond the boots maximum angle or not you're unquestionable increasing wear on the boot in the prior scenario even if you're only bouncing in and out of that failure range. I guess it's not catastrophic enough for anyone to care outside a curious analysis.
