Hey everyone I am new here and so stoked to own a Tacoma again. I recently purchased a 2010 Black Sand Pearl, V6, 4x4, Ext cab. TRD sport truck and am stuck on my suspension lift. (Please understand that I am not very educated in this stuff and am learning as I go) I bought an 2.5in OME complete lift kit with AAL in the rear, however my problem is in the front. I am trying to run 285 70R 17 TKO2's on XD Addict Rims with a -12 offset and I still need 1 to 2 inches in the front to not rub. I don't want to trim the fenders and I have read enough to know not to go with spacers. The only options I can come up with are.....1. return the kit and buy an different kit with 4in lift on the front. (any suggestions would be helpful) 2. Add a body kit and get the clearance I need (but I am reluctant because all I have heard and read are body kits are bad.) Thank you so much for your advice and help. I think this will look sick but I just don't know enough to make it work. I will post some pics too.

The consensus here is that you'll have to trim some inner fender and cab mount chop for 285's. no matter what. Lift doesn't help unless you go 6"... don't do that.

A 1" body lift will help clear them

Plenty of members run them with zero issues

Read, read, read, and read all over the suspension and tire threads on here. All the info you need to learn as you go down this rabbit hole of modifications is in here. Just keep reading and asking questions.

Looks like I may be going with a different lift kit on the front. All I know is that I need 4in.....any suggestions?

Why do you need 4 inches?

Obviously his front bumper doesn't need it, but yeah with no CMC?

I've seen steel bumpers need to be trimmed for bigger tires.

    35s tho

When I first got them, there was VERY VERY minor trimming in the inner fender well and a CMC. Plain and simple, if you absolutely DO NOT want to trim, DO NOT go with 285's.

Ah okay I was about to say that your truck is a freak for not having a CMC. I plan on CMC and some trimming for 285/70/R17 with 2.5" lift on extended travel Kings

Wow you guys are awesome. After taking a closer look (and a lot of reading) it doesn't look like I will need to trim very much of my inner fenders. Once I figure out what I am going to do I will post some pics. Geekhouse you have a sic truck! I love this forum!
