Huge fight with my wife and I went out and bought my first Tacoma!

After years of looking I finally got one. And now that I have it, I can't stop thinking about what I want to do to it to make it my own. My personal touch, and there are too many options out there.... It seems like over the years I had bought vehicles that would work for the family and I have finally got something just for me. It's a great truck. It's only been a week and I am kicking my ass for waiting so long. So here I am as a virgin Taco owner and though I would ask some of you seasoned veterans about some upgrades I am thinking about. I have a 2010 Magnetic gray Double cab TRD Pre runner....To start:

Tonneau covers: I was thinking maybe the Armour Lid? I know it is not as expensive as some of them, but it looks like a good possibility.

Grille replacement: I was thinking something black.
Mytightride.com has a pretty cool one.

Rain guards: Not many options for a 2010 model. So I am guessing 2009 products will probably work in this instance.

Nerf bars: Smittybilt was what I was leaning towards...

Engine upgrades and wheels and tires will be my next project.

One more thing. What is the deal with the tailgate issue. Is it that much of a problem and should I be worried about it?

That's me in picture! That was the first Airdrop in Haiti. My brother was on EC-130's for a little while until he became stupid and got kicked out. Robert Griffeth is his name.

 

Just wait until the first time she needs you to haul that new piece of furniture home in it. Then it will magically become "her" truck.

 

She has ridden in it a few times and I have asked her what she thinks about it and she says she is still pissed about the circumstances when it was bought. I know she thinks its cool. Either way, it is a cool truck!

 

There are a lot of Loadmasters here... I may know him. He is in the reserves and we don't mix with those guys very often.

With my 2nd truck, I just left with the mustang we had
and when i came back home, pulled in with a new toyota pick-up.
She looked a me and said:

My girl was pushing for the truck, lol

 

Did i mention i also bought a Harley while on lunch one day !!!

She thought i was joking about that one,
untill i took her with me when i went back with the down payment.

Seeing i can get away with that, could be why we just celibrated 24 years monday.

Welcome!!! I did the same!! Got mine and told my wife it was all mine!! i have had my Tacoma 2yrs 3mo. and I do all my mods every few months!!! till I'm done!!Next mod CBI rock sliders!!! cant wait! So good luck!!! And do it all!!!
