It all boils down to what works best for you and your situation . The dbl cab works best for me , i like the extra full door and seat .

Never regretted the AC. Firstly I seldom have more than 1 passenger and my dog, so we're all good there. (I built a dog platform behind the seats for the dog). I use the full 6 foot bed a LOT and would hate just having the short bed, and I'd hate having a DCLB, too -- the proportions just seem off to me. I love the look of the AC -- it's just right in my eyes.

I do, i'll be having some kids here in the next few years that really weren't on the radar back when I bought my AC. A 4x4 DCSB would be ideal for my future situation.

I have a double-cab and literally removed the back seats to have more storage space. I use my truck for work so the back area is now great for storing material for work and has all my tools back there. In a year of having the truck I only ever had a person back there once.. So it didnt make any sense to keep the seats back there and have them constantly getting dirty from stuff being put on them.

Going back I definitely would of gone for the access cab or reg cab just to save a few thousand on the price of the vehicle (I actually prefer the look of the reg cab over AC or DC). The double cabs are usually quite a bit more expensive.

However I do like my short-bed and its not available in the AC or Reg setup so im kinda torn between the two options. Short bed with un-needed back seats, or no short bed and save some $$ on the initial purchase of the truck

    enough to have fun
just posting my experience. I had an AC Prerunner, and it was a great truck, just didn't suit my needs for Dogs / gear / inside cabin space. Also I couldn't comfortably fit people behind me. I now have a 4x4 double cab, and I still can't comfortably sit people behind me, but they do fit now haha.

If I only worried about My dog fitting, it'd work. But day to day I'm so happy I have a double cab

Occasionally... If I had a topper and locking tailgate, it would be a non issue but I have to remind myself I could've gone regular cab! FoMo is real...

    At first: No regrets.

    Later: Occasional regrets

Now: Regrets. I’ve never had anyone in the back, but my sister in law is having a kid this month and my wife wants one this year. An AC just isn’t going to cut it with two car seats.....

'21 Nothing so far, I just bought the friggin thing!! '09 Silver SR5 Prerunner DCSB (sold) Dick Cepek rims, 33” Cooper AT 3’s, 24 in light bar, custom-made hitch step, sport headlights (on SR5 taco), Gator tonneau cover (looking for Best Top soft camper shell), real tree seat covers, weather tech floor liners, 6’ bed mat cut to 5’ (because the 6’ ones were the only ones available, alpine touch screen head unit, alpine 1100w amp powering 2 10” subs, upgraded door speakers (forgotten the brand), Magnaflow exhaust
I have a freind with a AC and tbh it’s really small in the back so small that you can’t fit anyone taller that about 4’5” or 5’, my DC has more room but it’s still not enough for someone over 5’5” maybe 6’ if they sit on the passenger side with the seat forward. Also it’s a bitch trying to put shit in the back of an AC in any tite aria whitch is a problem with the DC

I love my Access Cab. I don't have kids, so it's just my wife and I and occasionally our dogs. Personally, I love the look of the AC, and I don't really need any more space. I have a bed cover and tailgate lock for larger items, smaller items just get tossed into the back seat.
