Good morning, :pccoffee: How did you attach the spypoint solar? It came with a strap, but I'm thinking about a trespasser stealing it ...I might need to make a metal box :welder:or try to camouflage it somehow. On my old camera, it had a couple places for screws.:notsure:

sometimes you get more than you think. Do you have to fill a report there? We have to fill a salvation tag out within 24hrs. Ive gotten deer, moose and one elk. most of them were 90% salvageable. The elk was the best one.

we actually just started doing "tags" but its just an app that you say "i shot this kind of deer in this county on this day" I think you are prolly suppose to let someone know if you pick up a deer off the road, but since I was the 3rd in possession, it really doesn't fall on me, may have bee a slightly different story had my FIL been stopped on the way to my house with it in his truck but even then its pretty loose here for road kill, and there is most likely a 24 hour period here that if nothing else, he could called on.

11 years ago we could kill a buck everyday of season, and a few years doe season was open all year so you could kill 2 does or a doe and a buck everyday. in 2007 they went to 3 bucks a year, and you just had to carry a piece of paper and a pen with you and fill it out if you killed a buck; you didn't have to report it. last year they started saying every harvested deer must be reported within 24 hrs, and certain counties have split doe season, same daily bag limits apply tho

Wow must be over populated! Good eating though! Does it hurt the beef industry there? I know people will still buy beef and other meat but just wondered about that.

that reminds me of a funny meme I remembered...;)

i don't think it effects it too much, price of corn has the biggest impact on walking beef prices, but that almost never is reflected in the grocery stores if walking prices happen to go down, you know how that is tho haha. we had a really bad drought last year and no one had hay (like I think by February if you had some, you could have sold it @ ~$100 a roll) and cattle prices dropped at the sale barn, but meat prices stayed pretty level (corn was super cheap though... still is really... if corn is up beef is down and the other way around is usually true but I guess people were just flooding the market with cattle they couldn't feed prices fell everywhere but the grocery stores)

I never really thought about it because I put mine on private land. I would think you could get something akin to a bicycle chain or something :notsure:

One guy told me to replace the strap with a metal band, like you use to bundle lumber/cross ties...If I can find some stainless steel band material, I'll try it out. The steel bands are fairly easy to cut. :sawzall:

Well, I set up the spypoint solar today and it’s defective :annoyed:. Returned it to Wally’s-world for refund. :woot:

My next option is the Moultrie 40i, do y’all know if it’s a decent game camera? Any ideas :notsure:

My wife doesn't hunt, but her Volvo does. She put two deer in the freezer last year. I usually just salvage the off side of the deer and don't mess with any bruised meat. Tastes as good as any other meat.

I used two metal conduit strap clamps to screw the camera to the tree. Put clamps in vise and bent it around so both screw holes lined up. This fit right where the little strap goes. I wish the camera wasn’t defective, I’ll mount the next camera this way also.

Finally came across a fresh rub here in NH, been seeing a lot of last years sign. It snowed today about 2 inches up here in the mountains so I'll be out tomorrow first thing.
