A roadkill buck @SAWDOG18 and I picked up on Friday night. And unfortunately his taco was what took it out.

We got our revenge on it though.

    @Z7Xtreme
How far away will it take pics? I’ll stop at Walmart in the morning and buy the 40i. I had a Moultrie m80 for several years, it finally quit working.

What do you think about the Deer Cane, and Big Tine type stuff

Ive tried deer cane and didnt have much luck with it. They do get to like the apple rage or sugar beet stuff. If you are wanting a salt lick get the trace mineral with selenium(SP?) its a tan looking block not the reddish orange block.

I’ll pick one up at the feed store, do you sit it on the ground or bury it.

Also I remember seeing some Apple rage and beet stuff today at WM.

A few more from my good friends family in Missouri.
The boy filled his tags (2) in 10 mins.

And daughter/father with some nice bucks.

Another daughter took a doe last evening.

I keep getting invited to come out and hunt but usually run out of vacation days by then. Might have to get my priorities in order for next year. :)

Missed that buck last Wednesday, and saw 5 others. Dad hunted Friday and Saturday in my spot and saw 20, including 3 small bucks and 2 others that grunted and were running does that he could never see. I’ve been back Sunday, Monday, and this morning. So far - 0 deer.

I saw the legs of one through a thicket yesterday but I’m not even counting it.

This is the predecessor to the 742. It's a 740 Woodsmaster. My grandfather bought it in the mid 50's and then gave it to me for a HS graduation gift way back in 1988.

Did not know that. Wow that’s impressive. The rifle I have was also given to me by my grandfather, who purchased it some time in the mid to late 80s.

    30-06?

Mine is .30-06 as well. I could only imagine the stories it could tell!

The rifle I have started life in Rhode Island, killed deer there, Maine, and Pennsylvania. Killed my first deer in Alabama and now in Texas, has taken a hill county doe. Can’t wait to watch my future children use it for their first deer hunt!

From doing some basic research on the 740 - it's not a gun you want to put a lot of rounds through and likes to be clean. The receiver metal is soft and can form grooves from the bolt rails. Great hunting rifle, but not one you want to be taking to the range much.
