i was all about waiting for an 18 to trade my 16 in on... but man i found a 17 for $3500 off msrp that has the tech package with jbl. seems like a better deal than getting a base model offroad with TSS added.

What's with the $41K price on a 2018? Not so long ago I saw a '17 pro for like 43K.

Toyota is smoking something if they think I'm going to pay over 40 for something that was 4-5K cheaper 3 months ago.

    It started at 36700

adds a 2700 premium package and 800 tech package and some other junk and yeah you're at 41.

Well damn, I guess I should have bought that '17 sport w/Premium and tech. I got them down to $34,460 but I passed on it b/c the '18's were so close and I wanted leather (and hoping they'd fix some minor issues so I don't have to deal with them). Oh well!

Not exactly. It is only about $795 more expensive when comparing apples to apples. This is an automatic, long bed, with JBL, and a couple of options. If you go on to the Toyota website and build this exact combination (2017 build), it comes to around the same price. The only difference is the way the packages used to be, you would have to get the tonneau cover. This one apparently doesn't include the tonneau with the option packages. It may be a separate line item going forward. So if you were to back out the $650 for that, (which you couldn't before because it was part of a package), it works out to about $795 cheaper. But....you are now getting TSS and leather. So it looks like Toyota is now forcing you to get TSS and leather if you want the premium package, and forcing you to pay around $795 more for it.

Personally I like heated seats but hate leather. I am so glad I went with the 17 because it is one of the few vehicles left nowadays you can get heated cloth seats with all other premium options, and a manual tranny.

There are still a lot out there. You may need to travel to a distant dealership but they will most likely give you a great price. Look on cars.com and filter down to exactly what you want. You may be able to find one in under 100 miles away. Call them, give them your best price, and see what they say. Thats what I did. FYI I got 4K below MSRP.
