Dakars or 3leaf progressive AAL?

    Billies and Eibachs, Camburg BJ UCAs, Demello hybrid sliders SOS HC rear bumper, SOS front bumper, Warn M80000, fully armored, Safari snorkel, No-slip locker, diff breather, bumper and roof mounted light bars, onboard Viair, 275/70 17 BFG ATs, and a badass sound system.
    Im planning to upgrade from my AAL in the rear of my AC. I'm on ome 886s up front and have an empty box 75% of the time as it's my DD. I load up 2-3 hundred pounds for camping and Wheeling. Also I pull a 5k# trailer or boat with an SOS HC bumper hitch. Last time I was out Wheeling I bottomed out a couple of times with under 200# in the bed. I'm looking for something that'll make the rear end less flopy and will stay stiff while I'm towing. Right now I'm thinking of either Dakars or a wheelers 3 leaf progressive AAL. Would the Dakars be too stiff under an empty bed?

    Go with the Dakars. I had the Wheelers 3leaf added to a brand new TSB leaf pack with the overload left in and changed it out for EL095R Dakars less than a year later. The progressives are fine when unloaded but can’t carry a load and squat with just a few hundred pounds on the truck or hitch. The Dakars are a little stiffer when unloaded but it’s not bothersome.

    I like my Dakars ,but I always have the load of my Allpro rack. I'm not sure how it would ride with no weight in the back. The Flex off-road is pretty dam good also.

    Another vote for Dakars. I’m really happy with the way my truck rides and I run around unloaded the majority of the time.

    As someone who has switched up their rear suspension 4 times now, go with Dakars. Buy once cry once. Do it right the first time.

    I did that with my front. Finally settled on the 886s with billies.

    Lowest setting, I went 886 because of bumper, winch and skids. I previously had eibach 620# set at .75 but I like the ride much better now.

    I'm running dakars and the only weight I have in back is probably 100lbs from my Voodoo rack and gear. Feels just like stock to me.

    They will increase the rear height approx. 3/4 of a inch if there is no additional weight back there.

    Thanks for all the input. Is that 3/4 without the Dakar AAL? Will the AAL add more height or just extra weight capacity,

    As someone that went with the dakars originally in the same situation of mostly empty bed and occasional towing, I ended up switching them out for some allpro standard leafs and sos concepts shackle flip with longer shackles to get my ride height. The dakars were just too stiff for daily driving for me.
