arg, temptation is strong on this one...

My Miata is still in PA, and I have a potential trade for it.

Would you trade a (basically finished) project car for a Noveske N6 Switchblock (.308 / AR10 platform) with a PEQ IR/visible laser unit and a Trijicon Acog on it?... it's like $8,500 worth of badass rifle and kit.

Keep in mind I have WAY more than that in this little bastard but I was never putting money into it for the purpose of "resale" - it was my project car but my life has taken a turn (move to AZ) where I really just don't have any room for it until I have a house, and maybe not even then if I can't afford a dope ass garage.

Yeah, but what’s he going to use more?

My only fear if it was me though would be getting rid of the rifle for something else later.

But still, try to squeeze some cash in with the deal @Nitori

That is a sweet rifle but the car is sweeter IMO.

It is a 16" though, with a more traditional AR stock- not that it couldn't reach out and touch someone, but it's more of a "closer quarters" kinda platform in my mind.

And the guy who offered the trade is the owner of a large gun store, so if need be I could ask him to include a .223 style ACOG instead and put it on another rifle, or maybe shop around for some other magnified optic.

I am gonna shoot for extra goodies since this guy also said he would consider giving me an M249 (keep your pants on it's the semi-auto FN version) for it instead.

The market for the first gen Miatas is kinda hit or miss- you get average DD's for about 4k-5k, they'll have minor issues and be a little dog-eared but totally functional. People try to sell a lot of clapped out abused shit at that price range too. Above ~7K and you're straight into the subjective value range, unless you're talking about a minty M edition in a rare color.

Mine has been "bastardized" by absorbing many different salvage Miatas to purify the essence of Miata- it's got the interior of the 1.6L style, various 2nd generation fittings like injectors and rear brakes, and so on.
Figuring in time spent and parts value and research and fabrication, I probably sank 15K into the thing. I have it insured at agreed value of 12K, but I know cost of replacement / money invested =! market value.

Yeah it's an awesome car to be sure, but I'm on the fence because of my current situation in terms of budget/garage space/etc.
