Browns Camp OHV (in Oregon's coastal mountain range). I took my 16 year old nephew off-roading for the first time yesterday. I think he had a good time, but it's hard to tell with kids these days. There's no cell service out there, so I think that was good for him. I had fun at least.

How hard is that trail? Did you need to use recovery gear at all?

Trail difficulty at Browns ranges from green trails all the way up to gnarly double-black diamonds. We hit about a dozen different trails sticking to green and blues. Some of the blues had pretty decent challenges, especially for my DCLB, but no damage or recovery was needed... at least on my rig. I kinda miss my JKU on 35s on days like this.

@KaizerWilhelm Is this trail pretty brushy or relatively clear? Always looking for new places to check out but so much around here is very overgrown and I still like my paint LOL

Went for a cruise up near Yankee Hill stayed off all the side trails along the way. Was a little tougher than I would like to have done without another rig for those just in case moments, especially in a stock truck with such little tires haha. Either way, took er slow and walked down to plan my route on some of the rougher spots. Had no problems other than smashing these stupid predator steps on a couple rocks. Was the girlfriends first time on a trail that actually needed 4wd, she is now hooked which is good news for me and the truck! Rock sliders, skids, bigger tires, and suspension may happen sooner than originally thought! haha

Yeah, I was surprised. Figured there would be some snow with as nice as it’s been, but also half way expected to have to turn around to avoid getting stuck haha.

I did the same exact thing to my predator steps the first time I took mine out. They are for mall crawling only. Sliders and bumpers are ordered. I bought KO2s already. Make sure you ask about the price difference by going up 1/2 an inch. I saved over $60 per tire by getting off the OEM size.

That’s good to know. What size did you go with? The SR5 comes with 245/75 16 and was thinkin I’d go with 265/75 16 but if there’s a cheaper and bigger option I’ll definitely go that route!

I have the Pro. I want to say it came with 265/70R16. I went up a size to 265/75R16.

Awesome! I've gone out there twice now just for a couple hours. Haven't explored much else besides the area immediately around Browns Camp. Definitely itching to get back out there now! Is there a group or something that posts trips/meets? Just moved over here recently and don't really want to go by myself because I know I'll break something!

Whole bunch of stuff in my garage
It was relatively clear. There were some spots where I had to move fallen trees out of the way, though. What I forgot to mention is that the trail is blocked off by massive overgrowth about 4 miles in. My buddy with a 4Runner and I are going to try the trail from the other side to see how far we can get. My goal is to map it the entire way using the GAIA GPS App
