yea theres only 1 line that goes to the axle (not sure if its different in later years) so you should be fine. Did you get extended fronts too?

Ok cool. It's probably the same.
    No, I didn't. Should I have?

don't think they are necessary for mid-travel set ups, was just curious. Apparently stainless lines have a different, firmer, pedal feel too, so its an upgrade either way.

Ah gotcha. Well perhaps I'll upgrade them in the future then. TBH I should have done the Tundra brake upgrade back when I got calipers. But needing calipers was a last minute, unforeseen issue. Maybe in the future I will do that and the lines.

exact same thing happened to me, suddenly found that my brakes were metal on metal one day and didnt have the cash for the tundra brakes at the time, which kinda pissed me off, so just got the normal pads and rotors. You're not running 33's are you?

I knew my pads were going. They were really low and thus would set off ABS at any bump cuz the truck didn't feel I was braking enough. (no longer as issue, as my ABS is busted lol). But when I went to change them, the pins that hold the pads in the calipers were seized on both sides. And any attempts to get them out just started morphing them. So parts store calipers it was.

Nah, still on stock 265/70 tires.

Keep the ABS busted lol. Be lucky you don’t have a second gen. The ABS is dangerous. I actually slid through an intersection in the snow because of ABS. It was going super crazy and wouldn’f allow my brakes to even engage once. Way before mods were a thing. I pooped my pants

Bad ABS are just a Tacoma thing. The 1st gen's system is pretty bad. Even after changing my brakes, they didn't engage when they damn well should have. So they either engage all the fucking time or not at all. And they take forever to find the spot they are looking for. So instead of actuating and then quickly getting the brakes to where they need to be, they just actuate until you let off the brake. Maybe one day I will tear the dash apart and take the damn bulb out so I can finally rid myself of the light.

I was forced to make a similar mistake because it was my DD still and I needed brakes to get to work, didn't have time to fuck around wth Tundra upgrade. Extend the lines when you do the Tundy upgrade, they mesh well together.

ABS wise, if you ever convert to LED dash, pull the light then, that's what I did lol. I also pulled the ABS fuse in the fuse box, eventually need to do the ABS control box removal to get some space back under the hood.

Hadn't thought about that. Any more room is appreciated. Worth looking into if ya got no plans to keep/restore ABS.

Figured I'd take care of any smaller parts of the larger job ahead of time so I have less to do later. Part of that is the brake line. But I don't think I can get the female end undone. Am I going to need a thin, stubby 17mm wrench to fit in there and then get a 10mm crow's foot wrench? There's no way I can see doing it otherwise. Any suggestions would be great.

Like Tom said and what @Sub-Zero was trying to say (pigs vs. pics), pics would help.

I have ratcheting stubby’s and flex-head flare nut wrenches you can borrow Mike.

Depends on what it’s worth. Not sure how desirable they are.
