Raleigh North Carolina and surrounding areas

I downloaded the US topo map app. Figured I'd goof around with the free one first to see if it was worth it.

 

What kind of map? Topo? Navigation?

 

Avenza maps allows you to download usgs, nat geo, etc. also allows you to drop waypoints, measure, etc. it’s my go to

 

I reall liked hema, took a while to download the maps but was great for hunting

 

Try maps.me, works good for nav.

 

I guess I could have been a little more specific. I was thinking of a decent Topo map just something to see whats around where ever im at. I'l have my phone if I need anykind of nav. Just thought it might be a good use of this extra tablet. Hell if nothing else I'll let the wife download movies to watch when we drive somewhere.

 

I use AllTrails. There’s a free version but I pony up yearly for the pro. REI also has a free app called The Hiking Project that’s gaining traction.

 

I'd be down, time and where?

 

Lemme see what the wife's plans are. What'd you have in mind?

 

I could possibly relay if someone could get it from Hickory to the triad area. I am in the triangle area fairly often.

 

I'm old school and use paper maps I really like the Nat Geo ones. I haven't dabbled in the electronic realm yet.

 

I could go for anything do you have a time?

 

I always have time. Just running short on ideas, anywhere in Garner(white oak), South Raleigh, Fuquay, Holly Springs works for me.

 

Don't know what's around that area you tell me and probably around 12:30 would be when I could get around there.

 

Anyone in the area have some 33x15's? I've got a coworker with a jeep he needs to re-shoe. AT's are preferred, it's a lightly driven hunt vehicle.

 

Let's plan on another day, we can get a group together. I got leftovers that need eaten.

Beth and I went to Rye today for lunch and though it was not fried chicken day .... it was meatloaf day and it didn’t disappoint.

 

Went to Lebowskis today for lunch, good stuff, will go back. authentic Bufflao cuisine.
