Been having some thoughts

I've been a volunteer firefighter for about 4 years. I first started in one town where all my good friends were, but I've sinced moved and volunteered in the town I'm in now. Things have changed. Got married, have a 6 month old, bought a house and work. But I'm also not as close to the guys in this FD than I was with my bros in my hometown. Unfortunately, at this point, volunteering has been more of a chore than anything else. So....I've been thinking about quitting it. I hate to think that I'm quitting something because I've never quit anything other than a job that I didn't like. But I'm just not into it like I was when I first started. What are your guys' thoughts?

 

you have a wife and kid? if quitting is ok and will not affect the love ones and your financial state, follow your heart, why be somewhere where ur unhappy. but if ur fam and financial state will be affected, u gotta talk with ur wife and see what she thinks, theyre always the boss. sometimes u gotta stay at a job if it pays good even if u dont like it, bc u have ur fam depending on u at home. whats exactly bothering u? maybe u can filter out the bad? dont see the situation as a big fucked up situation, pick at it. find out whats going wrong, why, and what u can do to make it better. even if its one issue at a time, its better than nothing. sometimes looking at the big picture as a whole is very overwhelming

 

You just need to figure out what's the risk to reward ratio. By reading what you mentioned in your post, I would say give it up. Just my 2 cents....
