I'm going to be looking for new tires in the near future and was wondering about the possibility of 35s. I know I'll for sure need a cmc and tons of trimming. I'd like to avoid trimming me fenders but I'm open to the possibility. Mostly I'm trying to determine if I'll need to regear. And if so will I need to do it before 35s or can I run then a while before a regear happens. I have a auto V6 access cab. I'm on trails frequently and tow occasionally.

From everything I've seen on here is that you'll need to trim fenders for sure, since you run trails and flex your suspension. As far as a regear, you could run them on stock gears, as some people on here do, but I wouldn't want that as a permanent solution. Even if it feels "fine" you'll be putting excess strain on your transmission, whereas the regear alleviates that.

Take all this with a grain of salt as I have no firsthand experience, but I'm on here a lot and this is my take on it.

EDIT: Another size you could consider is 285/75r17 or 305/70r17, which are 34s. Then you may be able to get away without a regear for a little longer.
