Yeah, I only got a few to work. :(

This seems like a good plan. Thanks!

    You are very welcome.

not to bring this back from the dead but I had the same issue... so for now I ended up just cutting the fuzzy side of Velcro to size and stuck that to the roof... ultimately I would love to wrap the headliner or do something to add more with a cleaner look but for now I guess it'll do...

Need pics, I have some on my blue ridge overland visor covers, but they're always closed and hidden.

try adhesive felt swatches... pick your preferred color at a local hobby craft store. try placing the patches on the felt before adhering the swatch to the headliner.

I am thinking about putting mine on my dash mat with some velcro sticky back applied to the back of the patches I collect. May try and find some material to mount to my headliner as well.

So with just regular Velcro backed badges you were able to get them to stick on the headliner without anything special?

It depends on the patch's material, I tried this with some of the patches I have and it works but some it does not. It seems the more aggressive the patch material the better the results.

So I went with the idea @Flytmech provided and turned out pretty good! And yes, I realize the Deadpool one is crooked. I straightened it out after taking the photo.

Small collection but it’s gonna grow fast. Pushed pretty hard and had to massage them into place but they’re not going anywhere

Shit bolted onto other shit, and junk.
Remove the headliner, go to hobby lobby or Michaels or Joann’s Fabrics and buy the headliner you want, mine is dark grey pile Velcro. Remove your factory headliner fabric, it’s easy to pull off. Go to autozone and get 3M interior fabric adhesive cans. Lay it out on some sawhorses and then cut to size. Do about 1/3 at a time, spray both sides and let it tack up for about 2 min then spread on the new fabric. I did my headliner, A, B and C pillars complete. Thick fabric won’t show wrinkles either or excess glue leak through. Fabric was about $3 a square yard.

This is what my 06 cable looked like when my passenger side wheel locked. It can lock the wheel when it looks like the photo above. (Snags on the back of the drum plate) Not sure if the 3rd gen looks the same
You would think that a Toyota mechanic would notice if that piece was cracked. And it shouldnt be on a new truck. But it might be worth a look though

Got this heavy duty velcro w/ adhesive few months back and it's still holding strong. the adhesive is top notch, and it comes in a good size to easily cut for most patches: https://amzn.to/2KxSN9M
