Awesome! That's exactly how to do the hook grip! When I first started i was pulling my thumb out of my socket but then I learned how to do it and now it feels waaaaay better. You turned your hands in, push down, wrap your thumb then your fingers around,squeeze, then lock it in by twisting your wrists and locking in your lats. Man it's so much better.

Also it looks like you could lift a lot more!

This was the video I watched and it all came together for me. Made much more sense. I hope everyone can try this and lift just a few lbs more next time. Its great guys.

Also Cailer does an explanation on it as well but doesn't talk about locking it in like Omar does, but he does say to push your weight into your hand and THEN wrap your thumbs around it.

Haven't really deadlifted since I tore my L5 disc about 2 years ago. Last night I did #405 for 1. Worked up to it slowly, was still pretty easy going. Don't really care for the big 3 numbers anymore as my body has never felt and looked better once I stopped. But, after that I did bent over rows for #225 x 12 and not that bull shit movement everyone does where they use their arms

 

I wish I was 210, I'm 5'12" 220lbs of beast. My best skwats was 315 and best dead was 360. But I haven't lifted since Sunday so I'll hit it hard Thursday night.

 

I'd let the gym management know about it. It's not worth you losing your membership. I know ours is open 24/7 and you get some guys that take off their shirts and some that have their girl friends take video or pictures of them while working out, but that doesn't bother me. Theyre not being fat and sweaty and not cleaning the benches after they lift. Our gym owner is pretty strict about what you can't touch (like AC temp) and he and his sister will watch the cameras to make sure youre not bringing extra guests that aren't paying to lift. (5 bucks) they'll charge your account if you do. They have disclaimers posted every where so you dont forget lol
