    He had to use stacks. The dime store running boards were in the way of the side pipes that he'd planned to use.

    Must be a US version? In Central / South American countries where that vintage is the mainstay, they actually have diesel engines. But they'd only use one stack. Of course that assumes that they are willing to give up the already limited bed space where they carry 10-20 locals to and from town.
