There are those of us OVtuned 3rd Gen owners who think that 'ol Mat should run his R&D 3rd Gen Tacoma on the stock tune for a while - just to get a feel for Toyota's stellar calibration in the real world

I do feel like from just a pure architectural standpoint that running the stock code with heavy data logging for up to 1,000 miles could prevent a lot of trial and error / rework but he's the expert and I'm the customer who pays him to work his magic...

In my world I have to hold people accountable to NOT SOLVE A PROBLEM YOU CAN'T FULLY DEFINE.

But, based on what i've seen it seems Mat has a pretty good read on the problems but perhaps the nuances will become more apparent once he gets more time behind the wheel of the truck. I still wanna see how he fares bouncing around SoCal in a truck coming from high powered sport cars

 

I think you should let the expert make the decision in what to do with his test mule.

 

I think it's a no brainer for him to drive the truck stock for a bit...i think it would benefit us all if he felt our pain

let's see, i picked up my new Pro at the dealership 52 miles from home. drive to the gas station before the highway, and it was about there that i realized this isn't easy to drive.

by the time i got home i knew there was tune issues, having looked at some 2016 reports. there was no tune at the time so i got a Pedal Commander pretty quick.

he won't need more than a drive around the block to know all he needs. after all, you didn't either, did you?

my salesman took the ride with me & his cc.. be bought the gas, which is nice cus i bought the tint package from them that happens to have no tint.

it became a joke between me and the dealership. end of the day i was the only one laughing and i won't go back. kinda sucked since they set me up with the first MT Pro allocation in Texas. i got the unicorn thanks to them AND I'm still appreciative regardless of how they feel about me.
