Girlfriend moved in, so my house is now infested with pillows. The dog took notice and haven’t gone to his crate in months....

 

No f'ing way. Seriously? That's insane.

 

My little guy's the same way. As if the couch isn't comfortable enough...

 

Watched War Dogs on HBO the other night. Handler was shot and his dog reassigned to a stateside PD. At some point before the transfer, the soldier was told that at the dog's retirement, he would have first right of refusal on the dog. Sadly, the officer who received the dog decided he wanted the dog and tho the soldier had reached out to check status, the officer declined to let him see the dog-I'm sure there's more to the story but on the surface, it was a dick move to decline. The dog passed away without her original handler ever getting to see her again.

There's a special bond that K9 handlers have with their dogs and I can see both the officer and soldier's point of view but damn, that was hard to watch.

Years ago, I worked for a deputy who, along with his K9, had been shot. Both recovered and were fairly inseparable. When the dog passed, he was a wreck and that's why I think it was a dick move for the LEO not to at least let the soldier see the dog.

 

I’ve seen some great working dogs. Couple of years ago flying in SWA there was a Mal that was headed back stateside. His handler hand gotten hurt and was given to another for the trip. He was calm and collected. Decided he wanted more room than the fold down seat on a C17 so he laid across my lap as well. I’ve wanted a Mal ever since.

 

Went down to Salinas for Rock Box Off-Road Trailer's open house last weekend. Wonderful time-Riley got to see some of his pals and Jason took this great picture of him with my truck.

 

Took a weekend trip to Hatteras a couple weeks ago.
