I don't really wheel come hunting season. I didn't get the buck I was after. The neighboring land owner messed my hunts up pretty much every time I was out. And it was intentional he almost got his teeth kicked in on more than One occasion. But I just let it go. I told the PIC so they know. But it probably won't go anywhere.

Agreed. I was at Tuscarora in April and March. It was nice after the winter: good, muddy, rutted out roads. I camped out there in mid september, and most of the roads were graveled to allow for the gas pipeline trucks.

We were in Pine Creek area, and the state forest systems up there. It's nice to head up and have access to 3 state forests. Most of those were graveled over as well though in October. We traveled about 300 miles worth of roads up that way and it was fairly well graded and graveled compared to the last time we were out there a few years ago (lot of it just driving back and forth and looping around). Once we got to Susquehannock forest and northwest, it got better and was what I remembered of that area from the past. But, it did help that we were there when it rained for about 6 days straight.

Bald Eagle is still a great area. Paddy Mountain forest road off Paddy mountain road is a nice ride. Negro hollow is fun after it rains, as is Poe valley road.

This is a great time to start heading out.

I just explored Loop Road in Tuscarora State Forest last weekend in daylight. I had checked it out the weekend before at night, in rain and fog. Tuscarora is basically where I grew up. But there are some roads I've never been on because they've been gated. But these are mostly open until December 10th so I went to check some out.

I believe next weekend some people from Mid-Atlantic Overland Society (on FB) are planning a weekend in Bald Eagle. I've never been to Negro Hollow Road but I here it's fun. I can make a day trip, explore Bald Eagle, and still come home and sleep in my warm bed. lol

Oooo... I've seen photos from this but I never seem to know when it is. I should probably just mark this on my calendar now.
