    What about softop or bestop? But I agree with little ones the cap was priceless, and 500 bucks for a cap it a good price, I sold the one off my 09 for 750.

    Yes, canvas material. I had a cap, it only came off once, when I sold it. Got a softop on my 17, just switched it out for tonneau cover for winter, took my 30 minutes to take off and put a way the softop and put on the tonneau. I can understand the security of the hard cap, but I believe locks only keep honest folks out.

    I got a used bestop at first, I sold it cause it didn't fit the 3rd gen right, bought the softop new and would buy one again over the bestop.

    What's more convenient than unsnapping the side to reach in and get what you need? Packing for camping this year was so much easier. I just put up both sides and the back, reached in from sides to stack things up, where as with the hard cap, I had to crawl up and in to organize and stuff it full.

    All this being said, I completely get the hard cap want.
