KB VOODOO outboard bike mount????

Anyone know where to get an outboard bike mount? I have an ARE shell so it can’t be mounted on crossbars and I’d really prefer to not mount my bike on the front or back of the truck. My garage is rather short, (truck barely fits as it is), so the hitch rack is really an “I’d rather not” thing for me. Or is anyone willing to let go of theirs for some monies?

 

Why not in the bed?

 

I keep all my recovery and camping gear in the bed and would like to keep all that stuff away from my bike while traveling.

Are you willing to drill into the side of the cap? Because if you are you could get this from Vooodoo

 

That’s actually the route I plan on taking if there isn’t another option out there like the outboard bike mount or if no one is willing to sell their mounts to me. Definitely don’t mind drilling into the side of the shell but I’m also pretty sure that the side window on the shell is going to be right where I need to be “drilling” into.

Yeah that would be an issue, but you could but the angle brackets on the cap on either side of the window and then but sorting like this and do some minor modifications to t so you can mount the wheel mounts on it

Yeah, they stopped making it because they made the mount for their bed rack... and voila... just like that, the camper shell guys unintentionally got the shaft. Lol

 

Other than not having the money for a cap it’s the little thing things like this that are keeping me from buying one

Mine came with the truck when I bought it. At first, I was going to make the move to a rack but I’ve grown to really like the security and weather defense the shell provides.

 

I want something i can mount a bike rail to so i dont have to remove front tire. Might see if bamf can fab me up some brackets.

 

Yeah when I was first looking at mods for my truck about a year ago I didn’t like the grandpa look of it, so I went for the tuonne cove and now I wish I had saved my money and went for the real deal

 

Do you have a quick release for you front tire? If not buy one and hay ho there you go problem solved
