1st of all, Yes I did search the forum and google. Was not able to find the specific answer to my specific question yet. Maybe I suck at searching, I dunno. But YES I DID SEARCH 1st before posting this.

I am planning on installing my King 2.5's this weekend. I also have a set of SCS Ray10 16" with -12mm offset rims with 285/75/16 Cooper Discoverer STT PRO's. I know they will rub . I know I need to chop the cab mount , and I know I need to trim the fenders but here is my question:

If I install the Kings + Wheels and tires, can I at least commute around without chopping the frame or will it rub super bad every time I have to make a u-turn? How bad does it actually rub without trimming? I have a DCLB so turning radius sucks and I am always cranking the wheel until it stops in order to park, go through drive through s or make a u-turn. I might wait another couple weeks and do the CMC first then install the rest if its going to be rubbing like a b*tch under normal driving conditions. Although I would love to install this stuff for now and then just get the CMC in another couple weeks.

I went to my friend to install some rear suspension components one day; he is about an hour away and I had no help locally to assist me. While I was there, I asked him if he could do the CMC. He said yes and asked what size tire I was planning on running (still on stock at the time). I told him what size tires I was running, he knew what to cut and how much. A couple of weeks later, I got my new tires put on and had zero rubbing issues on the frame. Had to trim some plastic though because I rubbed at full lock, parking lot entrances etc. If you can wait, I would do the CMC first. I don't think you rub the frame that bad however; the plastic is what rubs first.

Mine didn't rub the cab mount on the road - even on turns, but it did rub everything else ... front wheel well and cab mount fender plastic.

Best to install/CMC all at the same time

IF you do install before CMC, get as much Caster as you can when you align.

I just completed my lift this weekend and had the same questions. I went ahead and did the CMC ahead of time and am glad I did. Nothing to worry about now. Most likely won't rub cab mount on road but you will definitely rub the plastic in front and rear of front wheels as everyone else said during daily driving. My suggestion is do CMC before install, then trim fender liner as needed post install.

I did a 2.5” lift and 285’s on mine. No cmc right away. After an alignment it didn’t rub on anything. Even after hundreds of off road miles. I only did the cmc after going to 35’s.

16x8 4.5 bs method wheels. Alignment was 3-4 I think? Somewhere around there. Icon kit with upper arms and the shop maxed out the caster.

Yeah I felt like a squid a little bit having a bone stock Taco on that trip lol. It was nice being able to see everyone setup in person, it helped me decide which parts to buy. After talking to G and a few others who bought the SSP and SB, I decided against it and ordered the OVtune instead. I also got MBRP exhaust so its about to go through a major transformation lol
