My drive is only 14 miles. Benz plant is in the country

 

I have a sneaking suspicion I'll get to send some personalized postcards from Japan at some point.

 

Toyota plant is in good location up here, but again...too tornado-y for me. I'd like to get on there though I could stay where I am currently.

I sure as hell hope so. That's jobs galore. Don't know if it'd be Huntsville, but I'd move to work there.

 

Toyota has been super stingy on posting jobs lately, and it didn't use to be like that. THey used to have like 120 engineering jobs posted at any given time, with new ones every day. Now it's like 20 tops and they've been posted forever.

I've heard through the grapevine that a new US Aston Martin production facility is being scoped out for either Mississippi or Alabama.

 

On that same web page, I think it's cool Amerex is taking advantage of Kidde's fire extinguisher recall. That will be great for Amerex based in Trussville.

Back to the automotive topic. I85 from Auburn to West Point GA is starting to be littered with Automotive suppliers due to the KIA plant in West Point. I wonder if Toyota/Mazda are considering East Alabama for a location? Would be great for Alabama's economy for sure.

 

who knows? I definitely don't think it would be Huntsville since the engine plant is here, because this new plant would supposedly be for Corollas. If I'm not mistaken the plant up here doesn't make that engine? Maybe somebody can correct me.

 

I've always been a Japanese and German guy for the most part, but it sure would be great if GM, Ford, FCA would start investing even half the money our Jap and German friends are here in US manufacturing.

 

HSV makes pretty much every engine model now.

 

I wasn't sure if they did 4cyl or not, thanks for the correction. I know they do the V6 and V8 here. So that's definitely all of them haha!
