TRD Pro Grille for $140?

I ordered on the 13th too. Nothing yet!

 

I missed out on the $111 ones too. Didnt know waiting one day would end up costing me $50 more. Damn. I also noticed the two different versions floating around... would it make a difference which one is "better"?

I just ordered a 2018 Tacoma with the now-standard Toyota Safety Sense. I wonder if I will be able to move the TSS sensor in the grille to this one. These grilles have a space for the sensor, right?

I find it interesting that these Chinese eBay grilles hit the market at the same time as the Cali-raised grilles.

Makes me wonder if the Cali-raised designs and production weren't hacked.

China has had 2 years now to figure out the OEM pro grill and they didnt

 

I forgot to orderived the $111 one yesterday, oh well.
The structure looks to have more support on the photo I posted on the bottom. I kind of like the removable toyota logo...

Hahaha in a room full of pirates and thieves some one askes who stole his stuff.

China didn't start producing them until they saw how 'People' were going and spending 400 bucks on 10 bucks worth of plastic. Further to this no pros in 2016 at first run of new design they came later on in the year.
Moulds for plastic production aren't cheap because they need a real cnc machine to knock out the design.
Lastly Call raised is selling knock off Pro grilles for the same amount as they cost in Canada (OEM)once exchange rate is factored in. (That's if you barely friend up with the counter parts guy - get the manager involved and I'm sure both would agree to a lower price high volume deal)

Just real things to consider.

 

If I recall correctly, the Chinese grilles have been on the market through eBay, perhaps not quite as less expensively priced as they are currently. Regarding Cali Raised, it’s my understanding the Cali Raised grille is also made in China. The most interesting aspect from my viewpoint is the reduced pricing advertisied on eBay.

 

This whole grille thing reminds me of what Toyota did with the Gen 2 XB. Standard grille was ugly, the Release series had a nice, simple mesh grille that looked great, but you had to order a 300.00 piece of plastic from them or go with aftermarket if you wanted to get rid of the ugly "bubble" grille. This isn't their first rodeo doing this styling extortion.

Seems if this pattern follows then mine won't get shipped until tomorrow which gives them 4 days to get it here. Guess it could happen.

 

I ordered the 111 dollar pro grill yesterday morning and got a shipping confirmation last night.

 

The one I got did

 

Mine hasn't shipped yet but its supposed to be picked up today by China post. So I figure about a week or so before I see it. I'll post the day it arrives.

Well they updated my shipping. Should be here on or before the 20th.

 

thanks for posting. im in Kaneohe and im trying to find a seller that will ship to Hawaii. 2 of them said they wouldnt. Then again I wonder if all these Chinese vendors are one in the same.

 

Yea i had one say they wouldnt but the motorsportsfan guy did. Hopefully it gets here okay.
