Random question, do any of you guys wear rain boots and if so, what kind? Been wanting to pick up a pair, but hate the super tall ones and most are super clunky in size 13.

I wear Onguard rubber boots in a 15 and have for years. They're mid calf, though, and a little clunky. I don't know what rubber boot wouldn't be clunky, they're not meant to be snug or low profile. :notsure:

For light rain or work where I'm not outside all day in heavy rain or puddles, I just wear good, insulated and sealed leather boots.

Those are my go to hiking shoes/boots. I have both the waterproof and regular version. They allow more freedom of the ankle like a shoe but they also support your ankles more than a regular hiking shoe. They have a wide sole around the heel to provide more stability.

Those don't look bad, mostly just need them for mucking around the yard/taking the kid to school (we walk). Thanks!

Damn those look nice, but a little much for my needs. Thanks for the suggestion!

I'd rather not leave poop in my bedroom

She did take a shit this morning on our walk. Then came right inside and took a piss on the carpet

When she takes a piss inside, lightly berate her with a stern "bad girl" and immediately take her out side and point to the ground in an attempt to show her the correct place. That is what I have done with my dogs in the past.

Edit: I agree with @grdgz97, if you find the piss or poop more than just a minute or two after she has done the deed, taking her outside won't do much.

When she pees/poops where she's supposed to, lots of praise and treats will go a long way. As far as inside, if she does pee/poop, personally have found that yelling at them accomplishes nothing other than scaring the shit outta them. Rather instantly put them outside. Again, only if you catch them peeing/pooping inside. Don't expect to come home after a day of work, find poop, and throw them outside to make the connection from that poop hours ago.

Disclaimer: I'm no dog whisperer. Just things that I've read and have worked for us.

And check out our TW dog page. Sure you could get suggestions there as well.

    Try Pacboots maybe?

OnGuard have a steel shank, and I wear them for work. Nice boots. FWIW I think the calf section is trimmable and has some molded cut lines, even.

Exactly. We don't get mad or excited after the fact. She did it right in front of us this morning so I gave a stern clap and no. Carried her out back (peeing the whole time ) to finish, then took her out for a short walk saying go peepee softly the whole time.

Problem is, even when she went poop outside this morning her ears were down while she got praise after.
