My vote is to buy it, but don't color match it just yet. Rock the two tone look for another month or two and keep your eyes peeled for a color matched cap. If you find one, do a little wheelin and dealin and sell the red while buying the black. If no luck, just paint the red one.

 

That's exactly what @vssman said. Rock it until spring, see how I like it, and if I do, then he'll help me paint it black.

 

Yeah what he said. Red and black always go together nicely. My motorcycle tank is all black with a red stripe front to back along the gas cap

 

LOL! Sorry man, but @vssman already called dibs on the Backflip. I'm just waiting for "official" word from the guy about the cap, so I can let him know I'm getting the cap and see if he wants my cover.

Heard back from the seller about the cap. Worked out a "deal" which in my opinion is more than fair since he's looking to get rid of it.

There are others interested, and since I can only make it out there the first weekend of December, he's going to let them come see it. If for some reason it's not sold by then, then it's mine.

We'll see what happens.

Not sure to be honest. Didn't even ask. Didn't even think of that. It's all good though. If he sells it then so be it. I'll still be on the lookout for one, and hopefully a good deal will come along.

 

I know they’re rare but deals are definitely out there. I ended up picking my cap in September off a member from here for 275. Needed new T handles but other than that great condition and it was already MGM.

For real? What kind and what "features"? Kinda looking for $500 tops...

 

Don't know if you've said it before but are you looking for anything specific on it? What kind of condition for the cap?

 

Some things cannot be unseen.

 

No specific brand, good condition (don't want anything beat to crap, would be nice if it had locks on the rear window, side windows can be just sliding ones, or full open (doesn't matter). Pretty much at least like the one I'm trying to buy.

 

That's got crazy expensive written all over it, that's why there's no price listed. Fak!
