I have searched every thread I could find as I also am installing my 5100s very soon. I have had the rear TSB for maybe 6 months now and my rear is still exactly 2-1/2 inches higher even after settling down some.

Honestly from most of the hundreds of photos I really can not tell that much of a difference between trucks with 1.75 and 2.5. For those of you that do have the 2.5 setting did it give you exactly 2.5 inches extra?

If it does do 2.5 then I really can not go wrong as this is the amount I need to level out. If it often gives a little more then I would be nose high and may just go with 1.75 to be safe...so to sum up my question has anyone actually noticed more than 2.5 at that setting?

Just a note: From what I've been reading on some of the posts, it looks like if you go with the 2.5 setting you might have to change your UCA's along the way. Best to ask around or even give Downsouth Motor a call to see about this.

I have read so many threads and found some have issues with over 3 inches of lift and many say that 2.5 is ok. I do know that I will take the cheap insurance of having the diff drop installed if going with 2.5.

My biggest concern is knowing how much actual lift the 2.5 setting will put on my truck. I saw a few threads where people claim 3.5 inches yet kept reading and learned their install was backwards or something like that and was later re-installed to get proper fit.

So if everything is done correctly will a 2.5 setting actually give me 2.5 inches or do the numbers normally run a little lower or higher?

Are you guys running Billys all around?

i think i have decided to run Billys in the front at 1.75 with a aal in the rear (probably 1.5 toyotec)

is the rear noticeably better with the billys in the rear? or should i save the cash and stay stock

    Thanks

Mine are set at 1.75 with rear tsb. Exactly .5 inches higher in the rear. Hasn't really settled any in the rear yet, when it does sh'ell be perfect.

All of these setups are making my head spin! I'm wanting to get 5100's on all four corners soon and I want to do it right the first time. I have an 06 PreRunner double cab with no TSB and all factory suspension. I rarely haul any weight in the back or tow anything. I want to raise the truck for looks only and have it sit level or with a slight rake. So if I understand correctly, I could go .85 on the fronts with 5100's in the back and leave the rear leaf pack alone. My other option is 1.75 on the 5100's up front with 5100's in the back with a 1.5 inch Toytec add a leaf.

Would both of these options keep me level or with a slight rake?

Just to help you out on this, here's the numbers from mine on what it did at the .85 and 1.75 settings. Just pay attention to the "Diff" columns to get an idea of how much higher each setting will give you. That way you can measure it yourself. (FYI, the "rear" numbers are the result of a 1.5" AAL)
