I'll look into it more then. Google earth only goes so far. I have access to 8x and 10x auto focus Steiners and a larger 20-50 spotting scope, and have spent time all over, mostly hiking. Hopefully those are enough!

I've been dragging my feet about getting my hunt on. I'm pushing really hard to get out before year end. I'll be putting in for draws next year.

I really appreciate the info! I'm from Tucson, but willing to travel most places for good hunts if I can dedicate some time to it. I plan on being more active in this thread too!

Really having to work hard and scout a ton for these birds though. Did manage to nab two geese combined with the few buddies I was with. Got 2 snows so far (different days and locations). Got a bunch of teal, pintail limited out two days in a row with a buddy, and some other divers. Also managed to get my very first wood duck

My Mossberg 500 pump finally took a dump by starting to hate the 3” duck loads so I picked myself up a beretta semi. Completely different world shooting that

Got my first bull elk this week. It was a tough hunt but definitely fun.

Good work! That broken antler is interesting too. Makes you wonder about the story behind it.

He broke both main beams, 1 after the 3rd point and the other side after the 4th point. It must have been one heck of a fight.

    Unit 10.
Went up last two weekends and it is really dry with most of the water holes dried up. Should make for an interesting hunt. Hoping it will keep some of the road hunters away.

This has definitely been a tough late season due to the lack of moisture. Good luck!

Incredible December coues hunt. With the extremely dry conditions and what started out warm and then temps dropping into the upper 20's in the morning, the deer started moving. Pray for rain.

On day 6 we were able to get my buddy's 11 year oldson on the buck at 447 yards. One shot.

The next day with 35mph winds I was able to take this young buck at 245 yards. Heart shot.

Arizona backcountry did not disappoint, epic scenery and as Jack O'Conner put it so many years ago " Coues deer hunting is a poor mans sheep hunt". These deer inhabit some of the steepest roughest country has to offer. I'm still pulling cactus out of my ass. Without 2 trekking poles , I would have surely taken a header on the trail. Lmao.

    Archery javelina in 21 days...

Best of luck to anyone with remaining tags. be safe out there !
