Well, I know he was talking about the non-premium model with cloth, but I saw the new black leather interior on the Off Road Premium models in person and they were DEFINITELY SAF. At least to me. Just sayin'.

I’ve ditched my last two Tacoma’s to carmax. They paid out substantially more then the dealer.

For those of you that shop outside your home state, how does the tax situation work?

For example, I want to buy a truck in TX (which charges 6.5% tax) but I would be driving it to SC ($500 flat fee).

Can I buy it in Texas and not pay the tax there? Just get a temp tag and insure it for the drive home?

    Not much stock left.
Yes, that is what I did. I purchased mine in Phoenix, and had it shipped to SLC. The dealer in Phoenix didn't charge me sales tax, when I registered it in SLC, then I paid sales tax.

I bought mine in CO. The dealer there calculated what my tax/title/license fees here in UT would be, and added that to my total. That way it was added into my loan amount. Then the dealer cut a check to the Utah dmv and sent it to me. I took that with me to register the car.

I did pretty much the same thing except my bank did the calculating and cut me 2 checks. 1 for the sale price of the truck and one for the tax when I registered it. I bought a GMC in San Antonio, Texas and brought it back home to Mississippi. Did all the negotiating online thru email and text messages.

Maybe you're unfamiliar with carmax, but their offer is a cash offer. It doesn't matter whether you buy a car from them. Their offer is firm either way.

So you could sell your car to carmax for the higher price and bring that cash to the dealer to buy your 2018 Tacoma. Again, great negotiating tool if the dealer is trying to short you a couple grand or is going to inconvenience you by forcing you to do 2 separate deals.

I just checked the Toyota website and they have 2018’s now on there available on the “build”. Just thought I’d share if you haven’t seen it yet.

I tried making a Sport in cement with leather and it’s only showing leather being available on Inferno colored sports at the moment. Strange.

I live next to the toyota hub where the train drops off all the new toyotas. Ill sneak a pic of whats on the lot. Literally outside my neighborhood. Very annoying hearing honking throughout the night as ports move the vehicles around lol

Not my truck, but exactly what I am looking for. No chrome rear bumper with tech package. It has premium and tech, cement and a 6 speed manual.
