Lift and Suspension Question

I installed the following last year, and have noticed that my front end sank down a little after doing it.

- Bilstein 5100 Series Shock Kit for Toyota Tacoma 4WD & Pre Runner 2005-14
- Bilstein Front Ride Height Adjustable Shocks # 24-239370 & Rear Shocks # 2
- Icon Vehicle Dynamic Toyota 1.5 Lift Leaf Springs in Rear
- Helo HE878 17x9"/6x139.7mm, -12mm offset
- Nitto Terra Grappler G2 285/70/17 Tires
- ** Stock Coils **

After installing the everything (setting the Front shocks to 2"), I noticed that it started sinking after about a month (which I expected a little sinking). Now, it has dropped about 1.5" compared to the back. I was thinking about getting 2" leveling spacers for the front, but wanted to know if this is the right way to go about fixing the issue. I get a lot of tire rub from hard turns (because it's too low) and want to resolve this.

Stock Coils or aftermarket Coils

 

Stock, sorry about that. Also any recommendation in aftermarket coils would be excellent.

 

Replace your stock coils with some Aftermarket. Your ass will thank you also because it will ride alot better than preloading those stock coils.

 

I have the ICON 3 Leaf Progressive AAL in the back with the overload in and OME 887's up front on 5100's. Gave me 3 inches up front and 2 inches in the rear

 

Thanks Rick. What is the main difference between OME 2886 and 2887? OME guide recommends the 886, but I do a lot of heavy load transports.

 

886's are usually for armor up front

 

I have the exact same setup with no complaints.

Our trucks don't have "coils" on the rear, we have leaf springs. Your factory pack with the AAL should be fine if your issue is with sagging in the front end.

 

Forgot to add I have ICON 2.0 shocks in the rear, and JBA Standard High Caster UCA's up front

 

I gots them jbas also, but Fox 2.0 RR w CD adjustors in the rear. So we are almost twinning.

 

Thanks guys, really appreciate it. Just purchased some OME coils, will take a before and after picture...excited to finally fix this!

 

One last question. I was reading in a few other threads about total lift. I ordered the OME 2886 coils and was reading, I should leave the 5100 at the stock setting of 0 for a 2" lift? Or, should I set it at 1" being that it may go down a little when the coils settle in?

 

It's not recommended you preload aftermarket coils with the 5100s. I don't know much about the 886 coils except that they have a higher spring rate than the other coils by OME.

 

Set the 5100s to 0 with the 886s. If you don’t have a steel front bumper, winch and skids you’re probably going to regret those stiff coils and end up with a 4” front lift.
