Thanks man, I was one of those! Don't worry, Mat will only have to send 3 or 4 tunes out to cover 04B10 off, we're that rare.

    Busted lol.

From 101.b to this test tune is a quantum leap. Puttered down the highwway on-ramp today in 5th, shifted up to 6th at 60mph and just let it accelerate with a bit of throttle - 80 b4 you know it, no big deal.

Now what is really fun in letting it eat in 4th up to that speed +. :)

Really digging the exhaust note change, and I'm stock all the way back.

@stevotivo12 , another vid with your URD exhaust and this tune?

The difference is quite dramatic, I'll say that. My truck is a different animal on the test tune.

Don’t know how I’ve missed this thread but this is great news. How is the acceleration from a stop? I miss low end torque and hope this can be the solution.

From a stop it's much better than stock. That dangerous "bog" is gone too. Throttle control is quick and linear.
The torque curve seems to have been filled in quite a bit below peak (flatter). I regularly run at 35-40 mph in 6th during my daily commute and the truck just chugs along like it should. I can also use 2nd way more in low speed situations such as parking lots. I'm sure I don't have to tell you how that feels on the stock calibration.

There's just more torque available for most situations.

Keep in mind though, that this is still a NA 3.5 2GR and the power band is higher than a 4.0. IMO, nothing short of boost will change this.

Edit: I forgot to add - I've been driving manuals for 35 years and this is the first one that I've found difficult to master. You have to learn a truly messed up driving technique to be effective on the stock code. On the OVtune, it just feels natural again. I no longer have to over think every move before I make it. Does this make sense?

Thank you! This is exactly what I wanted to hear and everything your are saying about stock is spot on! I do understand the power band will be higher on the 3.5, but the low end bog and the dull throttle response has gotten really old. I’ve had a few close calls pulling out on poor visibility intersections where I had to pull an “oh shit!” launch only to bog down and almost get slammed.

Sounds like improvements at high gear too which is great to hear. When I make trips north rolling down 77/19/79 through West Virginia I’m constantly changing gears. In my Gen2 MT I could maintain cruise control in 6th gear @ 75mph most of the time...maybe only needing 5th on a few of the bigger climbs. On the gen3, I have to cruise in 5th or change gears constantly, even dropping into 4th sometimes. Never had to do that on my gen2.

Looking forward to this becoming available again. How long will software updates be included after initial purchase? Will there be a point where new software patches won’t be free? Sounds like some more exciting improvements coming...

Well, I'll leave the details WRT patches/price and whatnot to @OVTune . I believe the idea was that once you bought the tune, all "regular" updates would be free. If you wanted custom work done, like more complicated bolt ons n such, well that may cost more.

Edit: I don't know how steep those hills you speak of are, but I highly doubt you'll need 4th to maintain speed with the tune (unless you're fully loaded or pulling a trailer). I should make a vid of this thing pulling in 4th on the highway.. but I'd probably get shitcanned for breaking the TW CoC lol.

    Ok so let's get ready..

If you have the kit, but haven't installed any drivers or even plugged the little dongle into your computer yet.. well WTF are you waiting for lol??

Read the instructions posted on OVtune's website, watch the vid on page 1 of the dev thread, get your pimply faced offspring to help you out.. whatever it takes!

Get the damn thing set up before Mat starts the tune release, so you're not all panicky IF something doesn't work and then he has to deal with your procrastinating arse.

There are a number of tech savvy ppl on here that can and will help you out.

I'm just fooling around, so don't get all offended - but seriously ppl

    :)
