2011 4x4 Reg Cab - Hunting - Fishing

Getting the old Remington primed up for deer season.

 

Jelly! Didn't took the time to shoot this year and going hunting this week end... Hope my skills are still good!

 

Haven’t fired this rifle since I flew with it last. Made sure she’s sighted in after the baggage handlers had their way wth it.

 

Sighted in my other Remington today. A old 760 ought six, I really want to cut and crown that barrel down to 18” .

 

Made a new recoil pad for the pump rifle / brush heap rifle.

Before- plastic plate and about an inch short of my length of pull


After - installed a grind to fit recoil pad. Length of pull is like honey now. Also dulled down some of that gloss finish with some steel wool.

 

Found a good duck hunting spot. Scouted out a better place for tomorrow

Going to build a decoy/child sled and a portable blind.

 

Today I had 255 85 R16 BF Goodrich Mud Terrains installed on 16” TRD OR Rims. Ordered them 11/6- waited 10 days to get them in! Yeah there is a hum, but expected. No rubbing at all and the slight driveshaft vibration I had before is gone. Rides smoother and I don’t notice much loss in power.

That looks really good! I have one in 30-06 as well topped with a vortex 3-9x50. It is an excellent rifle, I was very surprised at the accuracy even out to 250 yards. Only downside is it kicks like a mule, much worse than my Remington 700 in 300 Win Mag. What grind to fit pad did you go with?

 

Really nice build! Makes me want a camper shell for mine. How do you like the Depo headlights?
