Yessir, as long as I dont miss time monday through Thursday. Usually the last half hour of Thursday is actually the start of OT for me. We get OT after 40 and we work 5, 10's.

DAMN! You do 5 10's?! Guess it's good cause then you get a lot of OT.

I've always said I'd be up for doing 4 10's so I could get an extra day off. I'd love that!

Yup. The rain we had before Halloween soaked the carpet. Instead of vacuuming the water, they used a floor fan to dry the carpet. It's pretty dirty from past leaks with dark stains. I walked by twice on Thursday 10/26. About 20 minutes after, I started to have an allergic reaction in the chest. I was feeling fine before. On Friday, I went with my sister to the cape to pick up my parents and coughed the whole way there. By Saturday, I was sick with what I thought was a chest cold along with a fever. Tuesday, I had to call the ambulance - couldn't breathe and was coughing up dark brown sputum with blood. By the next Thursday, I was in ICU and the doctors were trying to stabilize me. 104.5 fever and I came very, very close to being put on life support. Luckily the nonrebreathing O2 respirator turned up to max got me through. They had me wrapped up in wet towels to lower the fever from what I remember - I was a bit deleterious by that point. They couldn't identify the strain but it isn't a normal pneumonia as I needed a different antibiotic. Regularly prescribed stuff didn't respond. Ended up so weak, I was using a walker to get to the bathroom.

On the mend at this point. Still very weak but I'm getting there slowly. I just can't get sick.

Jesus man, that is vicious. If your employer isn't responding to you that is not good. Do you have a human resources department? You need to talk to them and send a certified letter explaining the situation. I don't like the sound of any of what you are saying. This could be a long term problem for you!

I had a good doctors visit yesterday! No more packing my wound with the wet dressing, no more crutches and no more walking boot to deal with! And the best part is I can shower without wearing a leg condom. And I am told to walk as much as possible. Time to shop for a new motorcycle!!

HOLY FUCK MAN!!!!!!!!!! That's some serious shit right there. Didn't realize/know you were in that bad of a shape. WOW. Scary stuff, but definitely glad you're feeling better. Geez!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He's not the only one, lol. In a normal week I work 50+ hours, and some weeks I also work on Saturday, which bumps me up to just under 60.

I've called HR and EH&S several times. They don't answer or call me back. I work for a Fortune top 50 company. It has a "U", a "T", and a "C" in the name...

Haha so vague, especially with you being in CT....

I'd formally document an exchange with HR via email ( make sure to cc your personal email). Then see if you can escalate right to the head of HR.

That doesn't work send an email with HR people/ head HR/ Dept manager cc'd to OSHA or state equivalent. That will light a fire under their ass.

I'd be a little careful about that in that industry. I could see them making a big deal out of having information going to an unapproved place outside of the company, even if it wasn't confidential.

Different situation, but we actually had a teacher a few years back who was using his personal email for all of his school correspondence. We had to tell him he couldn't do that. In Massachusetts, there are public records and archiving laws we have to abide by and email is included in that.

It's important so you have a record. And there's no confidential information being disclosed so it shouldn't be an issue. It's not a work product but a personnel issue.
