Seems a bit high from what I am finding on Autotrader for year, options, miles.

Important detail to mention is the V6 part time case contains a Torsen center diff and has an auto 4WD setting that is safe for pavement (just awesome for snow packed roads). The V8 case eliminates the 2WD option but is the same otherwise 4WD Auto, 4WD High, 4WD Low selections.

Our Tacos got hosed on all features. No auto 4WD, no manual shifter. Blah.

T4R had that since 2000ish, it worked great in the 2000 Limited I had. But that kinda went away in the 5th gen's. My 2010 Trail is a lever, no auto 4wd option. The limited had a full time electric Tcase like the older V8's.

    What hasn't been modified?
    :anonymous:

So I haven't directly been able to tests the Torsen, but I've been told on good authority that's it's like the newer limited slip, computer controlled, vs mechanical

The electronic TRAC/A-TRAC is pretty slick, but I'm old fashioned so give me levers that actually move something and differentials that go bang in corners.

My v8 4runner consistently bests my v6 4runner. Not sure why as the EPA ratings had the v6 at 1mpg better back in 2004. I think because of the huge difference in torque your not in the throttle as much as the v6. 4.0l to 4.7l is not that big of a difference either. The v8 is getting 17 while the v6 floats around 15 to 16.

One other on craigslist with similar mileage and condition, no lift is going for 10k. Those most of those don't sell with the pictures they used.

Interesting what years are your V8 and V6?

I'm asking because I'm trying to convince my GF to get into a 4runner.

I kept my foot out of it this last tank and scored a bit over 17mpg, city driving only. It pretty much just idles around town on it's own.
And the Taco is consistent at 16.

Well, when I bought mine it looked like this but it was only $25 or $30. Got it at Jax I think, maybe some other farm store or Walmart. Maybe it was on sale.

I also have a 3" tow strap, because when I was looking for a tow (not recovery) strap I couldn't find a 2" at that load rating. I'm still looking (kinda) because a 3" strap takes up a lot more space than a 2".

My wife wants an Equinox and I'm trying to convince to either go 4Runner or a Subaru.
