God I hate dealing with Craigslist people.
I'm selling my Kubota and I say right in the ad that the only trades I'm interested in are for a similar tractor with power steering (mine has manual steering and the GF almost broke her wrist the other day when she bumped a rock and it kicked the wheel on her). So far I've gotten 6-7 emails from people wanting to trade the randomest shit, even though I said in the ad that I'm not interested.

 

I'll trade you my weed whacker for it

You've already got a Kubota; you going to ride them around like roller skates?

 

If this is craiglist world, I'd say 'It sure is!' and then show up the day of with a weed whacker from the 80s with a motor that is seized.

I like the idea of beer for lunch, just not your selection. I prefer the lighter flavor. Regardless though, I'm jealous of you again. Today has been like a constant fire drill. I started getting calls before I even made it to my office and they haven't let up every since.

My favorite was when I was selling a snowmobile, a 95 Polaris 600 XLT triple if I recall, I had someone offer me an 8' Burmese python and an X-box for it. A fucking snake and a video game! Kidding me?

 

So far I've had offers for a crappy Harley Sportster, electrical work, a set of broken 4 wheelers (of which you could build 1 complete unit that might function), a truck that needs work for a sticker, an older, smaller Kubota (still without power steering) with no loader, a dirtbike/woodstove/air compressor combination (basically whatever he had in his in his garage), and one incredible optimist who wanted to give me $500 to let him take the tractor and make installment payments starting AFTER the holidays.

 

They all sound SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO tempting Noel... how did you not accept any of them?

 

Are there even people that will accept a craigslist payment plan??? I think the true optimist would be the seller that accepts that and believes that they'll get all their money on time.

 

I might be willing to accept an installment plan, but under totally different conditions.
Half up front, $500 a week for the rest, and you don't touch it until it's paid for.

With a written contract that we'd both sign, and written receipts for each payment with both of our signatures on each one.

 

Sounds like a lot of effort for someone besides family... wait aren't you all related up there?
