TRD/ Magnuson 4.0 Supercharger Tips, Tricks, and Mods

My handheld tuner is already waiting for a ride on the USPS truck

 

I have understood that UCON have a lot of features which can’t be done with stock ECU only. But only tunewise OV might get close.

 

For $1600 it ought to have a damn coffee maker built in.

 

As I previously stated in another thread. For $1600 the UCON tuner better come with a blowjob. Possibly even a mail order bride as well.

 

Then yall wont like stand alone ecus....

The way I see it, Gadget is like a hardware guy (mechanic by trade ). He may be able to build you an awesome gaming computer with overclocked cpus/gpus, max memory etc....

But OVTune is the software developer/hacker that pours through data, logs, and stats and tweaks the system OS and kernel to gain optimal performance....without the need for additional or newer hardware.

Different approaches but both trying to achieve similar results.

 

In the supercharger maintenance how-to thread that is linked on pg 1 of this thread.....the op states something like his had around 4oz too and it’s a little less than what spec is.....so it appears this is the norm.

....been busy all day doing yard work, fall clean up......it’s definitly peppier. The boost to throttle response is wayyyy quicker. Even in 6th gear, doing 60-70 on the highway, punch it it feels like I’m in 4th........I give it a 2 thumbs up.

 

Hope they are better at engine software developing than their website software developing.

 

Kinda quiet this weekend. We all went out and removed the little brass jet last weekend and then boost referenced. Had to take a weekend off. Too much excitement.

Hey Andy. Can you please post s’more pics of the bypass valve inside the housing while you’ve got that thing apart? I’m trying to see exactly how that setup works?

 

Really curious about ovtune. Think I’ll play with my Land Cruiser a bit and let this play out. Maybe UCON needs some comp.

Just remember, the OEM ECU is limited in capability. Limited by the necessity of its platform. Limited fail-safes, and limited expandability. You can just add additional sensors for extra data and system monitoring.

 

Kinds crappy that they limit things like that. I'm sure the limit built in is on the software side rather than a hardware limit.
