TRD Pro Grille for $140?

im patiently holding out and im in no rush...

reading this thread, and as people are getting them, more pics will show up and reviews will be posted

The price point is nice and I agree they should creep down a little, the one thing I wonder is if it turns into a fake jordan/fake jersey type of situation--auctions getting pulled.

I don't think they will get pulled. They never advertised as authentic. They clearly state "pro style" which probably gives them some legal wiggle room. They were selling plenty at $250 by middle men companies and nobody pulled their ads. It's the same with "pro style" off brand tail lights or no name body panels.

 

So....these are white raw plastic painted black and not solid molded black?

That would raise some concern about durability.

 

Flat black spray paint is cheap. Will be easy enough to pop it out and spray it if it starts weathering. For the price of a Toyota grille you can paint this one every 6 months and in 5 years you are still hundreds ahead of that $400 grille.

 

I agree, stone chips will leave white marks everywhere. Would definitely be a better product if molded with black plastic

 

The ones from motorsfanclub seem to be one piece based on their pics...unless they are sending something different.

 

Did they charge you for the 140.00 already or do they charge you when it ships?

 

l didn’t look super close but I️ think mine is black through and through. Did not notice any son of it being painted.

 

I understand your concerns, and yes, the product could be better. Realistically, an eBay grille priced at $100-$200 had to come with some compromise, and I think buyers understand you get what you pay for. One simply weighs the potential compromises of an eBay grille versus paying $400 for an OEM Toyota TRD Pro grille. As long as an eBay grille holds up structurally and doesn’t show a tendency to crack easily, paint products can quickly address chips and blemishes.

You should swap in a trd grille to really screw with people.

Also notice the four vertical plastic reinforcements in the center. Some do not have that.
