CA DMV Refused to Renew Registration on 2016 V6 TRD

For sure. I’m up in northern Oregon (Portland area) and every idiot up here is hell bent on making it crap just like CA.

 

Call corporate be your best move.. If anything have them. Give you a rental till fixed. Sucks you gotta deal.woth this crap. I also live. In California and the. Dmv sucks

 

You might want to start a post asking if anyone has an extra. Some owners purchased a backup so they are not stranded on the side of the road.

Maybe you can get their back-up to get on the road sooner and they can replace theirs.

You can PAY the registration to avoid any fees and then show proof of repairs later. I do it all the time when I need my Corvette smogged.
Go online and make an appointment with them. If you have the recall information you can probably get a temp tag.

 

This. Vehicle failed smog test within the emissions warranty coverage period.

 

I am sure it is. Every time I go back I am shown exactly why I will never return beyond vacation. The grass IS greener my friend!

Sorry to hear that. As others have said make sure you pay or non-op otherwise the late penalty will make you cry. I just paid almost double because I forgot about my street bike being due!

Nashville and its surrounding areas perform emissions, which is why I live an hour from there. I can still enjoy Nashville with a small drive but I get the small town savings for cost of living and no emissions bullshit.

My brother and his family live in spring hill. Very quiet place. Grown fast. But alot cheaper than here to live.

 

Here in AZ emissions is only required in Tucson and Phoenix. Rest of the state is exempt.

 

CA DMV workers are the bottom of the barrel when it comes to brains. But the state would rather have them standing there, shuffling paper than have have them stand in a welfare line. It took me over a year to re-register my Harley because they couldn’t read the VIN number in all the correct places. I had to get a letter directly from Harley Davidson stating the VIN was actually a real VIN that was issued when it was new, two years earlier. Gota Love CA and out whacked out government.

 

So they will deny you renewal on a low possibility problem, but let all sorts of 30+ year old beaters clog the roads and spew out unburied hydrocarbons. Amazing.

 

How authoritarian of them....meanwhile, someone on the PCH north of Mendocino "rolled coal" on me when I toured there on my motorcycle last year. I have friends that live there and claim its more about control and bureaucracy than altruism. A faulty crank sensor on a stock vehicle isn't going to alter emission measurably. If it did, the vehicles ECU would go in to limp mode and fire the CEL off.
